The Congress party was once a strong force in Andhra Pradesh. Under the leadership of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the party was voted to power in 2004 and 2009.
However, the Congress is a rather weak political party in Andhra Pradesh now. Infact, no prominent politician is even willing to join the party.
It is said that former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kiran Kumar Reddy might be appointed as APCC president, but that might show very little effect on the party.
Congress could not even manage to get deposits in any of the 175 constituencies in recent assembly election and that speaks for itself.
Senior leaders like Raghuveera Reddy, and KVP Ramachandra Rao are staying away from the party for reasons best known to them and it appears to be that there is no way back for this national party in Andhra Pradesh.
